Mochi
Mochi is a Japanese rice cake made from cooked mochi-gome, a sweet and short-grained type of rice. The small balls or blocks are very popular because they are gluten-free and relatively low in calories. In Japan, mochi are traditionally eaten on special occasions such as New Year's, but of course there are no limits beyond that.
